Utah Olympic Park (7/2)

We are supposed to be in Lake Tahoe, but the RV is not ready.  Apparently there was a hose that needed replacing and they had to wait for it to come in.

So, we headed out today to Utah Olympic Park in Park City.  They have a lot of summer activities, so we bought the Gold Pass to be able to do them all.  We ziplined, we rode an alpine slide, we did ropes courses.  Apparently I am not afraid of heights until I'm actually up high on something.  But I made it on the intermediate ropes course.  Chuck & Ben did the beginner, intermediate, & advanced, while Zack did the intermediate and advanced.  We also got to watch some future Olympians in training.  I had no idea they trained in the summer in places without snow.  The ski jumps had really long turf they land on, then they continue on into grass. The aerial jumpers land in a pool.  Yes, of water.  In ski boots & skis.

This appeared to be the hardest element on the advanced course.

It was all very cool.  There was one course we were going to do that had a warped wall (if you watch American Ninja Warrior, you know how awesome this is), but we were all tired and hungry, so no one complained about skipping that.  I had found a Park City pizza place online that has gluten-free food, so we went to a late lunch there.  The boys made the mistake of ordering the 2 slice lunch special and though it came out right away, it was barely warm.  My gluten-free pie was hot and delicious - the best one I've had.

But what they loved most of all was the old-fashioned arcade games.  They had a Frogger and a multi with Donkey Kong, Ms. PacMan, & Galaga to name a few.  Chuck was pretty sure he could break the world record in Donkey Kong.  He only had 1 million + points to go!  (We just watched the awesome Donkey Kong doc last week - The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters.)

A great day, but then we got news that the technician working on the RV was still having trouble, so it looks like another day here.  It's a good thing we don't know anyone here, because we are running out of clean clothes.
